Benchmarking

Benchmarking is a performance measurement tool used in conjunction with improvement initiatives to measure comparative operating performance and identify the "Best Practices"

The Role Of Education

Understanding the Benchmarking culture and processes is a difficult task. Previous Benchmarking successes have shown that well prepared team members can achieve greater success in their efforts.

The Benchmarking Network, Inc.

The Benchmarking Network, Inc. is an organization of experienced Benchmarking specialists dedicated to providing the highest value Benchmarking services. The courses we present are based on real life success stories translated into an easily understood step-by-step methodology.

Process Benchmarking

Process Benchmarking is a two-day introductory course for people new to the process. This course discusses Benchmarking concepts, organization and expectations. The course is highly participative and case-driven. The course follows a six-step methodology which fits into overall improvement efforts.

Step 1: Plan
Here we understand how to measure processes, discuss terms related to customer satisfaction, determine what to benchmark and how to structure a study.

Step 2: Research
Next we search for appropriate companies, understand sources of data, and explain how to collect low cost data from libraries and other sources.

Step 3: Observe
Then we collect information using questionnaires, identify gaps, develop interviews and plan data gathering.

Step 4: Analyze
After observation, we dig down to understand the cause of performances gaps and look at the principles of data analysis.

Step 5: Adapt
We show you how to identify appropriate "Best Practices", communicate changes to processes, establish Benchmarking targets and gain support for findings.

Step 6: Improve
The last step involves training team members to monitor change, perform periodic recalibration and select the next Benchmarking topic.

Managing Benchmarking
